I call this the Gig Stan because someone else came up with the gigstand. This stand is used to cart your amp to the gig. Once you're on the gig, it can be used as an amp stand and guitar stand. I had this custom made as my prototype. I was going to put these into production but it was very expensive and too expensive to sell to working guitarist and bassists. I would have to sell these for $400 to make it worth my while.
The cart is heavy at 19 lbs. I use heay duty metal to accomodate for heavy amps like a Fender Twin. The metal also had to be heavy enough so the guitar won't tip over when you remove the amp.
I took my design to a fabricator to build. To put this in production, it would have cost more than twice the cost I had in mind. After everything was done, I decided not to pursue this costly project. One thing I can say is I'm the only one in the world who has one.
The amp can be tilted or angled.
Small guitars to large archtop guitars will fit on the cushioned stand. The speaker cab seen is an RE 12ER. A Fender Twin can be placed on the amp stand by turning the amp 90 degrees. I use a bungee cord to secure the amp while transporting.
The stand is collapsible so you can put in your trunk. The guitar stand has protective padding for the body, back and neck of your guitar or electric bass. The handle is also telescopic to make it easy on your back while carting.
I should have made the foot of the amp stand collapsible but I was thinking about strength and stability for a heavy amp like a Twin.
