El Rey Jazz Deluxe
I survived 4 NAMM shows without bringing a guitar home. This year I came home with a new addition to my arsenal of guitars. I just couldn't resist and pass on this guitar.

I claimed this on the last day of the show during the last ten minutes of the show. My friend Skip was crackin' up. Actually I thought Skip was going to buy the guitar. When I found out he wasn't, I seized the moment and staked my claim.

Here's the Back Side
The guitar has the tickle or vibe I can feel when I play it. I was surprised at how much volume it has acoustically although it isn't the same as a regular 16" or 17" full bodied archtop.

Trying to stay on top of it
It gets a really nice amplified jazz tone and other tones as well. It also sounds nicely balanced. It's very light and comfortable. It plays like a dream. The neck feels and looks exactly the same as the Pisano model. Feedback and howling isn't an issue with this guitar. I can play as loud as I need to. Notice I said "as I need to" not "loud as I want to." I also ended up taking the guitar to the shop to have an end pin and strap button installed that aren't shown in the pictures. The guitars in the Eastman catalogue show them with the strap buttons. I had one of the buttons installed behind the neck block instead of it's shoulder as Eastman shows in the catalogue.

This is the answer to aesthetics, comfort, sound, and feedback. I sound like an Eastman salesman but I'm not. I just love this guitar.

It has a ding but it's really no big thing. They way the guitar sounds, responds, feels and plays makes up for any ding or scratch it might have. Now I can say the guitar has character.

One Last Side Note
This guitar has the sound, the feel, the vibe and the mojo. Yeah Baby!
